Don't you fret....you didn't instigate anything! I work in Insurance so I completely understood where you were coming from and completely back what Ms. GibsonPearl said..(I'm in individual coverage, but if you ever have insurance questions, drop me a line).
You didn't deserve to have blame placed on you..period..
(but if you're the poster child for Drama, I wanna get me some of that!! LOL)

Re: Oh the drama...
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 7:53 PMDon't you dare! I am so glad for people like you who have the courage AND the very articulate debating skills to come forward and speak their minds! I am realizing more and more that a lot of people are scared to do that. I for one have also felt the tsunami of negative energy come my way from being something of an instigator when I feel that I have a worthy cause (and I'm thinking back to 7th grade when I spoke up and defended myself against this popular girl only to have the contents of my locker strewn all up and down the hallway--ah Jr. High, the good 'ol 9th ring of hell) but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 5:36 PMSherri I don't know you personally, but I'm terribly sorry for your predicament. :( Boy, what a wonder it would be to have to not have huge financial burdens, and in your case the financial burden shouldn't have been there in the first place. * lots of hugs from a stranger*

Re: Oh the drama...
Fri, April 18, 2008 - 2:43 PMSherri - it's so interesting that you started this thread...and all my blessings go out to you. There is nothing worse than having health issues. Stay strong, but remember it's totally natural to break down. And touch your injuries to give them healing ju-ju!
The reason why it's interesting you bring this up...was because I was wondering, how do teachers handle insurance for the classes that they teach. I mean, even massage therapists have insurance. What happens if someone hurts their back during a class and sues. And those clauses students may sign when taking a class that basically state "I won't sue if I get injured" are not legal contracts. They can still sue and they can still win.
Should I start another thread on this? Maybe on the Biz of Bellydance?
Has anyone ever had that happen?
Stay well Sherri! -

As a teacher and a studio owner, I carry insurance on the studio that also covers any teachers working there. I got it through State Farm, wasn't exactly happy about State Farm, but they were the only ones who would cover us.
Don't know if that entirely answers that question, but I'll be happy to answer more fully if need be.
