I just wanted to let everyone know who frequently uses PayPal that I just got off the phone with them and they're apparently having some issues. Even though I had a significant balance on my paypal account, they took the money out of my bank account. Apparenlty, this is happening a lot and I just wanted to make everyone aware.

I've been scared to death to use Paypal ever since my account was hacked two years ago and all my personal information (ie my identity) was stolen. I was never given a complete explanation of how it happened and only received a cursory apology via e-mail. Now, I am afraid to buy anything from websites that only accept Paypal for payment. I just don't trust them.

Thu, May 22, 2008 - 1:37 PMI had a different bad experience with PayPal. I bought a custom made costume that wasn't supposed to be delivered for 45 days. It didn't come, but because you have to register your complaint within 30 days of purchase, Pal Pay said, "Too bad, so sad." My money was GONE.

Thu, May 22, 2008 - 8:32 PMThis has happened to me too - I paid from my checking account, filed on the last day possible (day 30) and they told me to take it up with the vendor since all they can guarantee is basically that ... gosh, I don't know what they can guarantee since they basically told me I was out of luck. Since then, I only do credit card PayPal - at least I have recourse through my credit card company - and I only do Paypal as last resort with people/vendors whom I know personally or know to be fairly trustworthy.
